The communication modems of the Variomod XC series are designed for installation and use as internal modems for EMH meters of the LZQJ SGM and XC series. They are used to read data and are suitable for use in all common control centres.

Internal interface module
The Interface module XC extends the meters of the XC and SGM series by further parallel and independent interfaces. It features an RS232 and a bus-capable RS485 interface. As with all EMH modules and modems, installation can be carried out during meter operation.

Meter security module
The meter security module (ZSM for short) serves as a communication adapter and provides the option of extending the meters LZQJ-XC, DMTZ-XC and LZQJ-SGM with an RS485 data interface according to BSI TR 03116-3. This enables the use of XC meters with a smart meter gateway in smart metering systems.

The optical communication adapter is our readout adapter for the modern metering devices eHZ-K and eHZM in plug-in design. With this meter, the optical interface is located on the rear of the device. The OKK is used for communication between the eHZ-K and readout devices with RS232 interface.
